Don’t you just love the way these “researchers” come out with “new studies” that only tell us what we always new? The two I saw recently:

• “All hangover cures are useless. The best cure for a hangover is not to drink.” Hm. Wonder why no one figured that one before? Seems this guy at Exeter University surfed the Net and “combined medical databases to study a range of hangover cures”.
• Plantations of non-native and inappropriate species can be detrimental to the environment. Case in point? Eucalyptus. Never! You don’t say! Who could have imagined? So the way to avoid global warming isn’t after all, to plant acres and acres of eucalyptus? Oh my, oh gosh.

And they pay for studies like these? Or are these guys just finding an alternative to picking their teeth?
