Nikon Coolpix 5200Just got myself a Nikon Coolpix 5200. Excellent value for money, I think — small enough to slip into a pocket, loads of features and more. Digital Camera Resource reviewed it reasonably favourably, too. Of course the quality can’t compare with the results from a Digital SLR (I love my D100), but more on that later.  

Here are some photographs taken recently. The 5200 performed very well in truly awkward lighting situations and the image quality, though only in .jpg is sufficiently high-res for a 2’x1.5’ enlargement without significant pixelation or grain. It’s not meant for professional studio work, but hell, neither am I.
