Here’s a wonderful add-on for Outlook: Knockout from Sunflowerhead. It adds an icon to the system tray from which you can access almost all the functions of Outlook — add appointments, contacts, whatever — without having to start Outlook. Perfect for guys like me who hate the MSO slow, grinding, memory-hogging startup. And it’s a pain to keep open. Which is where Knockout justifies its moniker. I used it today, most pleased: someone called, we made an appointment, I just whacked it in with KO and next time I opened up Outlook, there it was. Best thing, it’s freeware.
