Cool Client for MT
Exceptional client for Movable Type
by DaBlogger

Zempt is a multi-platform posting freeware utility for Movable Type. I’ve been using and it works perfectly; it’s a huge boon especially if you’re running MT.

This is really one of the great features of Zempt and all its cons — frankly, I’ve seen only two so far — pale into insignificance in comparison. It’s fast, easy to use and set up, intuitive and very stable. It also has its own little bookmarklet type of feature which is really very nifty — drag it to the browser toolbar, then, on any page, highlight some text and, literally, ‘Zempt It’! Another add-on is the right-click context menu for explorer so you can keep zempting into MT from just about anywhere so long as you’re online.

The only two shortcomings are * that there doesn’t seem to be a way to set the default text-formatting option to anything other than convert line breaks. In my blog, for instance, the default is textile formatting (using Brad Choate’s superb textile plugin, of which more anon), but Zempt seems to default to the convert line breaks option; * when you’re posting, you have to remember to go to the Post Options section, otherwise you’re doomed.

On the upside, however, there’s the fact that it’s free (they request a small donation, which is worth it, IMHO); there’s loads of add-ons, also all free; it has a built in text formatter and editor; and it’s completely transparent and not doing anything behind your back.
